OUR HISTORY
Bridgetown Ghost Hunters (BGH) began as the Pacific Northwest Paranormal Research Society in 2007 to research paranormal activity. This mainly involved discussing the paranormal with those who had mutual interests and ideas, with an occasional investigation thrown into the mix. In 2009, we changed our name to “Bridgetown Ghost Hunters” because our goals had become more than simply researching paranormal activity in a group-discussion type of environment; we wanted a more hands-on approach. Our interest in researching ghost-sightings and exploring locations with reported haunted activity had evolved into wanting to help those who believed their homes were haunted have a better understanding of what they may be experiencing, while trying to answer our own questions about the existence of ghosts.
OUR OBJECTIVES
We want to help everyone that contacts us understand what they are experiencing, decide how best to deal with it, and walk away with the confidence that their place is their own. We will continue to provide support and document any activity for as long as it takes to reach these objectives. This may be as simple as a one-time validation of activity (or providing reasonable explanations for them), or continued support over a series of investigations.
We also want to help further the study of paranormal activity, which sometimes includes peer review of our documentation and procedures with others in the paranormal community. We believe this is an important part in the process because it allows outside documentation analysis.
OUR APPROACH
We approach every location – regardless of the type – with the same open mindedness and non-judgmental attitude. We make no assumptions about reported claims being true or false; we attempt to either add validity to those claims or offer explanations as to what we think is the real cause behind them. We bring with us a wide variety of experience and views that draw from our professional careers, past experiences and our passion for researching the paranormal. BGH also approaches every account as a unique experience and we are unwilling to compromise our commitment to give the highest level of personal attention, professionalism and confidentiality – we never share anyone’s personal information. We take the privacy of everyone involved very seriously, and we are committed to keeping their experiences as discreet as possible.
FREE OF CHARGE - OUR PRIVILIGE
We feel it is inappropriate to even consider asking for a payment of any kind. We do not accept donations, either; we do this because we are trying to help people while also answering our own questions about the paranormal. We will also not associate ourselves with any paranormal group or person that does charge a fee for the privilege of investigating paranormal activity.
ORBS BGH views orbs as non-paranormal and do not present any orb photo as "evidence." There is more than substantial proof to show that orbs are not signs of a ghost. | PSYCHICS / MEDIUMS We do not use psychics or seek advice from them. BGH attempts to document activity that may be peer reviewed by other paranormal groups.
| CLEANSING / DISPATCHING BGH does not attempt to remove, exorcise, or otherwise "get rid of" ghosts, spirits, or entities; however, we may be able to put you in contact with someone who can help. |
*This does not necessarily mean we discourage the use or belief in these; we simply choose not to use them as part of our documentation process. For more on our views, please visit the Bridgetown G.H. Blog.
Some paranormal groups and individuals have been claiming that they are certified - while there are groups and individuals with many years of experience in researching the paranormal, any certificate that a group or individual may present is nothing more than a cheap print: there is no such thing as a "certified ghost hunter." The best way to determine if a group is right for your needs is to inquire about their history and experience. Never pay for an investigation!
